Police arrested Carlos Aníbal Rosado Martínez today, accused of murdering a tourist in the Isla Verde sector in Carolina.

Rosado Martínez, 23, turned himself in at the San Juan Court this morning, after his lawyer, Jorge Gordon, coordinated with the Police Dept.

The Carolina prosecutor’s office had filed charges Monday against Rosado Martínez for shooting three tourists, killing one of them and injuring the other two.

Relatives of Rosado Martínez, suspected of shooting three residents of the state of Maryland last Saturday in the middle of an argument at Isla Verde beach (Carolina, PR), allegedly opened a GoFundMe account whose funds will be used to pay his lawyer’s fees.

Preliminary details point that Rosado Martinez had an alleged altercation with the 3 tourists after they were harassing a female at the beach. Rosado Martinez allegedly threw a beach chair at them, they ran after him, but he was able to flee. Moments, later, allegedly, he came back with a loaded gun and shot them, killing one of them and injuring the other two (stepfather and uncle). The investigation is ongoing.
