ARRESTED: Suspect of Killing Tourist and injuring 2 others

Police arrested Carlos Aníbal Rosado Martínez today, accused of murdering a tourist in the Isla Verde sector in Carolina.

Rosado Martínez, 23, turned himself in at the San Juan Court this morning, after his lawyer, Jorge Gordon, coordinated with the Police Dept.

The Carolina prosecutor’s office had filed charges Monday against Rosado Martínez for shooting three tourists, killing one of them and injuring the other two.

Relatives of Rosado Martínez, suspected of shooting three residents of the state of Maryland last Saturday in the middle of an argument at Isla Verde beach (Carolina, PR), allegedly opened a GoFundMe account whose funds will be used to pay his lawyer’s fees.

Preliminary details point that Rosado Martinez had an alleged altercation with the 3 tourists after they were harassing a female at the beach. Rosado Martinez allegedly threw a beach chair at them, they ran after him, but he was able to flee. Moments, later, allegedly, he came back with a loaded gun and shot them, killing one of them and injuring the other two (stepfather and uncle). The investigation is ongoing.

Cataño Massacre leaves 4 year old Dead

Dozens of Drug, CIC and Intelligence agents began incursions into various residential areas in Cataño and Río Piedras, Puerto Rico mid-morning today, seeking to confirm information about the alleged perpetrators of the massacre that occurred last night in which a 4-year-old boy, who was with his parents at a birthday party at the Jardines de Cataño caserío, died hours after being shot in the back with an exit through the abdomen.

Ian Olmeda fought for his life until 2:00 in the morning today, when he was pronounced dead at the Río Piedras Medical Center.

In the shooting, around 130 shots were fired, when individuals who arrived at the area in a gray Toyota Tacoma suv shot Johnny Jay Osorio García, 24, at the entrance to the complex, and Jesús Carrasquillo Alicea. Both were declared dead at the CDT.

A pair of brothers aged 9 and 10 were taken to the CDT and transferred to the Río Piedras Medical Center with gunshot wounds.

An avalanche of confidences mention nicknames such as Bubu, Hain and Cuajito, who, due to alleged motives for controlling drug operations, caused the massacre. The agents have entered Vista Hermosa, where supposedly a group from Cataño has control of the drug sales. Others are operating in other caseríos in Cataño.

Another group of CIC agents from Bayamón, under the direction of Captain Robert Ramos, are interviewing witnesses and collecting information and footage from security cameras on Flor del Valle avenue, where the hitmen arrived and fled in two vehicles, one of them in a gray Toyota Tacoma suv.

Celivelys Rivera Santiago was found by the search teams at about 10:15 in the morning today and was taken to an ambulance to be taken to a hospital in the area.

She is apparently fatigued and hasn’t eaten in days.

The young woman had tried to avoid the authorities that were looking for her, hiding in the wooded area of Canóvanas, Puerto Rico.

Police agents flew over the sector in a helicopter and several drones from the Police and volunteers began to look for Celivelys Rivera 48 hours after she suddenly left her home, according her husband the TV announcer Benjamín Rivera Trenche.

US shoots down UFO (unknown flying object) at airspace near Alaska

The US has shot down an unknown object flying in its airspace, off the coastline of Alaska – just days after it downed a Chinese “spy” balloon.

The object, shot down on the order of President Joe Biden, was flying at a high altitude of about 40,000ft and was the size of a small car, the White House said.

It posed a “reasonable threat” to the safety of civilian flights, said John Kirby, the White House National Security Council spokesman.

It was unclear where the object came from.

“We don’t know who owns this object,” said Mr Kirby.

US officials said: “Out of an abundance of caution and at the recommendation of the Pentagon, President Biden ordered the military to down the object over water.”

An F-22 aircraft took down the object using a Sidewinder missile over territorial waters – now frozen.

Arrest made in case of NJ Teacher’s body found buried

The 33-year-old teacher’s body was found with blunt force trauma and neck compressions in a shallow grave less than 48 hours after she was reported missing.

US Marshals have arrested a man in Florida in connection with the death of the 33-year-old Dominican teacher and mother who was found beaten and strangled in a shallow grave in New Jersey this week, the Hudson County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Separately, an arrest warrant was also issued for another man they are looking for in connection with
investigating the death of Luz Hernandez, a 33-year-old Dominican teacher and mother from Jersey City who was found dead in Kearny.

Cesar Santana, 36, and Leiner Miranda Lopez, 26, both of Jersey City, are each charged with one count of Desecration/Concealment of Human Remains.

Santana was arrested shortly after midnight Friday at a motel on Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, Florida, by members of the United States Marshals’ South Florida and New York/New Jersey regional fugitive task forces. His extradition to New Jersey is expected.

Tourists stabbed in La Perla

Three tourists were stabbed early morning today, at the intersection of San Sebastián and Mercado streets, in Old San Juan, in the La Perla neighborhood.

According to the Police, the complainant, identified as Carlos Sánchez and a resident of the state of South Carolina, alleged that he “took a video of a hamburger cart, located in La Perla. Subsequently, he was approached by an individual, whom he described as “long-haired, white-skinned and thick”, who warned him not to take videos.

“After a new warning, he attacked one of the victims, Wallace Alonso, in the upper right part of the forehead,” added the police.

Meanwhile, when they tried to leave La Perla, they realized that they were being followed and when they were going up the stairs on Calle Norzagaray, “an individual, armed with a knife, wounded the complainant in the left forearm near the wrist and then wounded Jackson Brandon, 38, six times, also hitting him in the left chest, upper left abdomen, left arm, and back.”

The injured tourists were transported to a hospital in the area. However, Alonso refused to receive medical assistance.

Personnel from the Technical Services and Aggression Division mobilized to the scene and the San Juan Criminal Investigation Corps will continue with the investigation of this incident.

Tourist falls to his death at Cabo Rojo Lighthouse

The Bureau for Emergency Management and Disaster Administration confirmed this afternoon that they located the body of Edgar Garay Pagán, the 27-year-old tourist who fell Sunday off a cliff at the Los Morillos lighthouse in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico is a resident of Indiana and was enjoying a recreational trip at the time of the incident, the United States Coast Guard said.

Divers from the “Strike Force” in the Mayagüez area of the Nmead found his body.

Authorities indicated that Garay Pagán supposedly left San Juan for the southwest coast of the Island and that he was last seen at around 5:37 p.m. near the lighthouse.

Coast Guard watchmen received a call at 6:50 p.m. from a 9-1-1 Emergency System operator who reported the incident. A witness said that she saw Garay Pagán stumble towards the edge of the cliff, which is about 100 feet high. A Coast Guard MH-60T helicopter unsuccessfully conducted multiple search patterns overnight.

In addition to the Coast Guard, personnel from the United Rapid Action and Emergency Management Forces are collaborating in the search.
