These are members of four organizations that carried out transactions for the sale of controlled substances and firearms with undercover agents.
The Special Operations Auxiliary Bureau arrested 41 people out of a total of 58 arrest warrants during various interventions carried out early this morning with four independent criminal organizations dedicated to the transfer of controlled substances in the police areas of Arecibo, Aguadilla, Utuado and Aibonito. The interventions, which are part of the initiatives of the “100 X 35” plan, are the result of transactions with undercover agents during which illegal weapons were also seized, informed Lieutenant Colonel Carlos H. Cruz, assistant commissioner of the bureau.
The transactions were carried out in Arecibo, Ciales and Manatí, Aibonito, Coamo, Aguadilla, Rincón and Moca, he added.
In Utuado, six arrest warrants were served with a global bail of $1.6 million, in the Roncador, Sabana Grande and Paso Palma neighborhoods.
A rifle and four pistols were seized during today’s arrests, two of them legally acquired from a man alleged to have sold cocaine to an undercover agent.
It is being investigated whether any of those arrested have participated in violent incidents.
